Okay ! I called this a “splashed!” dish because I seriously was just splashing stuff together! So I’m not going to give measurements as I seriously just did a splash of everything mixed together and just let it braise in a shallow pan.
Before doing anything braising – melt butter and fry the mushrooms!
Then…bring to a boil:
- splash of water
- splash of soy sauce
- splash of shao xing wine
- a tablespoon of butter
- splash of sugar
put tofu in and braise until almost all the liquid is soaked up. I also bought these cool tofu puffs with mushrooms inside, threw those in too. (my husband loves mushrooms!)
After I plated it, i sprinkled some truffle salt – which is kinda a weird union right? Truffle salts is like a “western” / “european” thing. But surprisingly – it was amazing. Really made the tofu POP!
Anyways – if you are reading this, you might want to slowly add all the “splashes” according to your taste!
