Serves 2-3 people
- Carrots(small) -20 to 25
- Butter -1 tbsp
- Sugar -1 tbsp
- Salt -1 tsp
- Pepper- to taste
- Water – as needed
- Put all the seasoning ingredients into a pan and add sufficient water to cover the carrots.
- Simmer for about 15 minutes over a moderate to low heat until soft. Check with a bamboo skewer to see if it goes through easily.
- The liquid may evaporate before they are cooked through. In that case, add more water, but not the seasoning.
This is an excellent recipe when you are thinking “WHAT ELSE CAN I COOK? THERE’S NOT ENOUGH VARIETY!” Plus, it is very, very simple. Just make sure you check time to time that the water doesn’t evaporate completely. I think i refilled it 2-3 times. And you must make sure the carrots are cooked and SOFT. When you eat the carrots, they should almost just melt in your mouth with a hint of sweet and salty!
